We decided there's a need for a lighter post here. . . to touch a little on how vastly different September, October, and November have been than we thought they would be! Here are some of the changes! Hope they'll bring some smiles and chuckles. . .

5. We now believe that "4 pound" babies are BIG! :)

4. Motivated by the need to avoid crowds and sickness, we now know just about every side and "secret" entrance to St. Luke's downtown. (along with finding previously unknown places to park).

3. Our lack of sleep and change in routine - along with the gift cards we've received from so many gracious people - have led to such an increase in our consumption of coffee, that we've single-handedly accounted for 10% of Starbucks' sales in October and November.

2. After a dinner where Angie & I apparently only covered discussing the logistics of life & routine, we were presumptively asked by our server if we needed "separate checks today." This, from a couple who once had a server come by the table 7 different times to take our order, only to find we had still not opened our menus!! Ironically, the server's comment prompted plenty of laughter (after she left), and a walk down memory lane!

1. Never would we have guessed that Angie's breast milk would not only be critical for Anna Joy, but also for another dear premature arrival. . . The Boise Zoo had an unexpected birth of a tiny little monkey whose mother couldn't lactate. The NICU staff received the request for bagged breast milk, and brought it to Angie since her milk supply is "more than sufficient." Next summer, we will have to visit this preemie primate!
