Day 60 in the NICU

Anna's Report Card

1. She has gone from 845 grams (1 lb 13oz) to 2,435 grams (5 lbs 6 oz)
2. Her length was 14 inches when she was born and now she is almost 18 inches long!

3. She is now in Newborn diapers!

4. She is drinking 40ml of milk per feeding (8 tsp)

5. We have begun some recreational breast feeding...

6. She
has had her first bath in a bath tub!
7. Tomorrow she will get her PICC line out! No more needles stuck in our little one! She can now have both her arms free from hoses/wires!

Overall Anna appears to have recovered from her NEC issue fairly well. We are praying that breast feeding will start happening here soon. Today she tried to breast feed, but then forgot to breathe and turned blue...required oxygen...and then was fine. Scary moment for Mom! Please pray that she can remember to suck, swallow, and breathe! Once she conquers this...it will make her one step closer to coming home!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you all enjoy being with friends and family this year. We certainly have a lot to be thankful for this year! What an awesome faithful God we serve!

Wonderful Progress Anna Joy! Angie, I think of you daily, wondering how you and Noah manage it all, home, children, time with Anna. You have been an encouragement to me, and bring glory to God in the midst of this fiery trial :) Anna seems to be doing all of the same things Judah is doing now . . . and what a long road for you all :) But she is doing AMAZINgly! We're in Idaho pretty regularly . . we should try to get together sometime! Jeremy's parents live in the Cour de'laine area. We pray for you and your family every day stil, and rejoice with you :)

So hard to believe she's been in there 60 days and should have another 30 in the womb! She has come such a long ways, thanks to loving, tireless parents and amazing doctors. I can't wait to hear you're bringing her home. Can I meet you at or around the hospital one of these days when I'm there for a check-up? I'm there every week now and would love to just give you a hug.

What an amazing day it will be when she is able to be home with you. You guys have come so far from those first days. Love you tons!
