Ups and Downs

Well, we were told there would be many ups and downs...and last night & today were a bit of a down. Last night Noah and I were at the NICU and Anna was not breathing as easily as she has been over the past few days. She stopped breathing on several occasions, enough to make the doctors concerned enough to change some things. They began another blood transfusion, and put her back on the C-PAP (continuous positive air pressure) to help pressurize her lungs and assist her breathing. Then this morning they called for our consent to perform a spinal tap to check Anna’s spinal fluid to assess for infection, as her white blood cells have been increasing significantly and they need to find out what kind of infection/virus she has so they can treat it (currently she is already receiving three different antibiotics, and they haven’t had the impact they were anticipated to have). They have also discontinued her feedings through the feeding tube, and we can't hold her at this time. Today they will be doing another brain ultrasound this afternoon, so we should have an update on her bleeding soon. Please pray that the doctors would be able to figure out how to best treat our little girl.

Don't like these updates as much, but thanks for sharing. Praying that the doctors have wisdom and that they find out exactly what she needs ASAP. She is a fighter and she is God's. Praying, too, that you and Noah have the strength you need right now.

Oh Noah and Ang, I will continue to pray for this little babe. Remember one day, one hour at a time. I'll pray you get some sleep tonight so that you have clarity and sound mind tomorrow.
Love you both!

We have been praying non-stop for your baby girl, for the Lord to be your comfort and strength. You must be exhausted emotionally and physically from the ups and downs. The Lord is your help in this time of need, may you be held up by that promise.
