I'm 3 Weeks Old!

Here's my room!

Daddy got to hold me for 3 hours today! I showed everyone I could breathe just fine with the nasal prongs... but I still get worn out sometimes, so the C-PAP mask helps me work on growing instead of breathing.

You know, Daddy, you don't have to stare at the monitors the whole time! You can tell how I'm doing by staring at me (but I understand this makes your neck sore).

I like something to push back on me when I'm wiggling and moving.

This was a few days ago. . . I've gained a half pound since this picture was taken!

Prayer Requests:

(1) Over the next 10 days, please pray that Anna's bleed in the brain will "disintegrate" and be absorbed back into her body, and that her ventricles would return to normal size. They are currently enlarged from excess pressure caused by the bleeding. This would allow the doctors to avoid having to put a shunt into the brain to relieve the pressure by draining spinal fluid.

(2) Please pray that Anna will be able to digest the added fortification in mommy's milk so that she can grow and develop the bone strength she needs.

(3) Please pray that we (mommy & daddy) would not become mechanical in our routine, but actively trust God for each day and hour, and that God would use the circumstances to continue to deepen our trust in Him and testify to others of His marvelous grace!

Wow! Great video! What an amazing thing to see her looking at the camera with those beautiful eyes! She's even waves at us. Emily insisted on watching it 3 times in a row. Anna looks great! We're remembering you all!

Carey

Thanks for giving us specific ways to pray! She is so precious and alert! We're praying for the bleed to completely absorb so she doesn't need the shunt. Your faith is so encouraging!

Not a day goes by that we dont pray for you both, for Anna, your parents, Heather and Chad. You are often the topic of conversation amongst our kids...they always want an update. =) We love you guys and wish we could do something for you to help. Please let us know if we can do anything. May God's grace be felt every moment of this journey.
